Here are your nominees for the Etihad Player of the Month for June 2025.

Maxi Moralez

The Argentine midfielder rolled back the years with a vintage display in New York City FC’s 4-0 win over Atlanta United.

Moralez dictated the tempo and connected play with sharp passing and intelligence on the ball, before adding his name to the scoresheet just before halftime. His well-taken finish set City on their way to a comprehensive victory and underlined his importance to the team both as a leader and a creator.

Those qualities made him a worthy nominee for June’s award.

Thiago Martins

Thiago Martins is back among the nominees, fresh off winning Player of the Month in May.

A vocal leader who anchors the backline with authority, he helped City keep an important clean sheet at home to Atlanta United earlier in the month. His speed across the pitch, along with his willingness to bring the ball out of defense, makes him an important part of Pascal Jansen’s tactical setup.

Martins remains a fierce competitor who demands the best from himself and those around him, making him a worthy nominee for the award in June.

Hannes Wolf

The Austrian attacker continues to be influential in the final third, with June seeing him add two goals and an assist to his season tally.

It was Wolf’s well-timed interception and pass that set up teammate Maxi Moralez for City’s opener against Atlanta United. He then notched a brace in the second half to seal City’s victory. A relentless presser who offers City value on both sides of the ball, his ability to be dynamic in the final third has helped the team secure some vital results of late.

No doubt eager to add more goals and assists to his total this season, his performances in June make him a worthy nominee.
