Throughout June, New York City FC is set to celebrate Pride Month through a variety of activations and partnerships. The Club is also hosting its ninth annual Pride Night match on Thursday, June 12 against Atlanta United FC at Yankee Stadium.

“At New York City FC, inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do — both on and off the pitch,” said Lauren Scrima, New York City FC Vice President, Marketing and DEI Council Chair. “Pride Month is a powerful moment to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, but our commitment to fostering belonging, visibility, and acceptance in soccer extends year-round. Through our Pride Match and Pride Month initiatives, we aim to uplift voices and ensure that everyone feels seen supported, welcomed, and empowered in this sport we all love.”

To kick off the month, New York City FC Front Office staff and fans marched in the New Queens Pride Parade, organized by the LGBT Network, on Sunday, June 1 and supported the Parade as Bronze Sponsors.

Donation and Match Activations

New York City FC is partnering again with Athlete Ally for ‘Playing for Pride’ this year. For every goal scored and assist recorded in June, New York City FC has pledged to donate $150 to support Athlete Ally.

The first 10,000 fans to enter Yankee Stadium for our Pride Night will receive a New York City FC friendship bracelet. Additionally, Drag queen Jan Sport will return for the third year in a row to perform the National Anthem prior to kickoff and serve as an in-stadium host throughout the match.

New York City FC players will also wear this year’s edition of the pre-match Pride Top. Sporting a vibrant, multi-colored design, the Pride Top celebrates optimism and collective strength. Making optimism in sport louder than negativity, the Pride Top aims to make soccer more accessible, safe and welcoming for the LGBTQIA+ community.
